This is a group of psychotherapy for mothers with Borderline personality disorder (BPD) or BPD traits, who are either pregnant or have kids aged 0 to 6 years old. This new model, inspired by the Minding the Baby approach developed by American psychologist Arietta Slade, integrates elements of mindfulness and reflective parenting.
The group is composed of 4 to 6 participants and 2 therapists (an occupational therapist and a psychiatrist specialized in perinatal psychiatry). The group takes place over a period of 14 weeks including an initial semi-structured interview (PDI), 12 group sessions of 2.5 hours and a final debriefing meeting. The group is offered 3 to 4 times a year, in French or English.
