The Registered Dietitian offers nutrition counselling to individuals who are participating in the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation program. Once an individual is enrolled into the rehabilitation program, a Registered Nurse or a Respiratory Therapist can refer to the dietitian.
The dietitian provides a 60 minute initial consultation and 30 minute follow-up visits as needed. The visits are completed in person at the Aline-Chrétien Health Hub in Orléans, virtually via Microsoft Teams or by phone.
The initial consultation consists of a thorough analysis of the patient’s dietary patterns followed by nutrition interventions, which include individualized recommendations and education. The nutrition interventions will take into consideration appropriate cardiovascular and pulmonary dietary guidelines.
Patients must be eager to learn about nutrition and motivated to work on their own eating habits.
The dietitian can utilize motivational interviewing techniques to guide the patient through improving their eating behaviors.
Food journal
It is encouraged to fill out the food journal template below prior to your visit with the dietitian.
Education sessions
