Orléans Health Hub to open its doors on June 24

Orléans, May 13, 2021 – After several years of planning and construction, the Orléans Health Hub will finally welcome its first clients on June 24, 2021.

Located at 2225, Mer-Bleue Road, the Orléans Health Hub is a unique and innovative model that combines a range of specialized and community-based care under one roof.

When open, east-end Ottawa residents will be able to benefit from integrated, needs-based programs offered in both official languages and close to home in a welcoming building inspired by nature.

The opening will be done while respecting the health measures in place related to the pandemic.

Family physicians in the area will be able to refer their patients to the Hub for some of the community and specialty services available there.

Parking will be free for all and bus stops are available nearby.

A major fundraising campaign, led by the Montfort Foundation, will be launched shortly to support the financing of the Hub.

The Hub will open in two phases:

  • Phase 1, June 24: Senior services, medical imaging, rehabilitation services, some mental health and wellness services, some specialty clinics, care coordination, a mobility aid store and a laboratory

  • Phase 2, Fall 2021: Some mental health and wellness services that were not transferred in June, as well as specialty clinics from Montfort and a coffee shop

The Orléans Health Hub project is a partnership between Bruyère, Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa, CHEO, Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre, Hôpital Montfort, ParaMed, Ottawa Public Health, Geriatric Psychiatry Community Services of Ottawa and Home and Community Support Services Champlain.

A new website describing all the programs and services offered at the Orléans Health Hub, and how to access them, will be launched in the coming weeks.

An official inauguration should take place during the summer when the situation allows it.
